I could have begun the story of Fiorello by saying:
Once upon a time in an imaginary world where animals spoke and loved...
And I could have made you think that little bull called Fiorello was so hand-some that I could only be make-beleive.
But you see, I'm the author of this comic book, and I can honestly tell you, I met Fiorello and, after the shock of seeing an animal speak, think, love and suffer, I was only just able to stop myself from teasing him by saying:
-You're full of bull !
Once that fist mischievous thought had passed, I realized how magnificent this young animal was, with his big round eyes full of truth and innocence.
There is no way I was going to tell Fiorello what happens to small creatures like him.
I preferred to let him hidein his secret place so he could continue to learn how to read, write and speak so that one day he could astound the united nations with a marvellous speech that would remind everyone there was a time when humans liked animals.
But today there is just one thing that I want, when you grow up, young reader, the memory of those big round eyes will live in your heart.
